Desert Story

A boy makes friends with a cockatoo who tells him that some evil people are cutting trees in the jungle. He manages to save the jungle but is deceived by them himself after a time and gives the cockatoo to them to be killed. The trees of the jungle are all cut a short time after and the wood disappears. The boy, who had been longing for money and prosperity, is left alone in his devastated village with a sharp longing to see the cockatoo once again. The cockatoos, too, wait for years for the village to become green and prosperous once again.
