The Wisest of the Wise

The Queen of India did not want to obey King Anooshirvan of Iran. She sent a delegation to Iran with their invented chess and demanded the king to reveal the trick of the game otherwise India would not obey him. Bozorgmehr, the wise minister, discovered the technique of the game and proved that Iranians are wiser. Bozorgmehr, in turn, invented the game of backgammon. He went to India and asked the Indian philosophers to discover the techniques of the game. They were unable to do so and the Queen had to present precious gifts to Iranians and accepted Iranian domination.
