The Epic of Siavoosh
Siavoosh,
son of King Keykavus was a noble prince. His mother - in -law fell in
love with him but Siavoosh drove her away. Angered, she told Keykavus
that Siavosh was a traitor. Keykavus threw Siavoosh into a big fire to
see if he was guilty or innocent. He dashed boldly into the fire and survived
unharmed. Afrasiab, the Turanian king, marched into Iran. Siavoosh battled
with Afrasiab and defeated his army. He built a magnificent town in the
border between Iran and Turan, married Afrasiab's daughter and tried to
keep peace between the two countries. Afrasiab dreamed that Siavoosh was
destroying his kingdom. He marched against Siavoosh at the head of a big
army. Siavoosh fought boldly with his small army but was innocently slain.
